About
There are no statements of intent here —
only the quiet trace of a hand moving through oil and light.
Ballogletti works in fragments: gestures that shift between presence and disappearance.
Most paintings leave the studio quietly, created for specific people
and the private rooms where they belong.
Many of these works belong to an ongoing body of abstract oil paintings —
the Liminal Line Series. Each canvas is built around a single vertical field of colour,
a place where light begins to separate one state from another.
Only a small portion ever appears publicly.
What is visible is never the whole, but an echo of a larger, unseen body of work.
His practice revolves around silence, memory and transformation —
themes that shape the surface as much as the space beneath it.
The paintings are not meant to explain themselves.
They offer a place to stand still, to look, to breathe.
What remains here are only the afterimages of a process that continues elsewhere.
The rest lives in private collections, behind closed doors,
in rooms that rarely appear online —
exactly where the work was meant to stay.

The Liminal Break — the signature that moves through his work
In many of Ballogletti’s recent paintings, a pale, feathered rupture emerges —
a vertical line where colour softens into light.
He refers to this gesture as the Liminal Break:
a threshold between states,
a quiet interruption,
a place where presence gathers in the space between two fields of colour.
It is not a motif, but a continuum —
a movement that returns from canvas to canvas,
always similar, never identical —
a trace from a larger invisible whole.
Collectors describe it as a still point inside the work,
a soft fracture where the surface breathes.
This recurring gesture — sometimes narrow, sometimes widening,
sometimes dissolving into brightness —
forms the silent signature of the Liminal Line Series:
the place where absence becomes form.
Only three fragments from this series are currently visible online —
**Fragment No. 3, Fragment No. 6 and Fragment No. 7** —
quiet markers of a much larger sequence that mostly remains unseen.
